Durham is the first British lighting designer to have designed the Olympic Ceremonies, firstly with all the Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006, the London 2012 Handover in Beijing 2008, the Opening and Closing of the Winter Paralympics in Sochi 2014 and the Summer Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Rio 2016.
